BinTech ("we", "our", or "developer") respects your privacy and is firmly committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy details our transparent, local-first principles regarding data handling when you use the GameBox Retro Simulator application ("GameBox" or the "App") and our official website. 1 Local-First Architecture & Zero Cloud Uploads
- 100% On-Device Emulation: GameBox runs entirely on your local device. Your game ROMs, real-time save states (.state), battery save files (.sav), cheat codes, and custom shader configurations are processed and stored exclusively on your device.
- Zero File Scanning or Telemetry: We do not operate remote servers to host or sync user files. We never scan, upload, collect, or transmit your game backup files, personal photos, or device documents.
2 Device Permissions & Justifications
- Storage & Media Access: Required solely to load user-supplied ROMs and artwork from directories explicitly designated by the user, and to write game save files back to your device storage. Access is strictly confined to user-selected folders.
- Bluetooth & Nearby Devices: Utilized to detect and connect wireless Bluetooth game controllers (Xbox Wireless, PlayStation DualSense, 8BitDo, etc.) and deliver low-latency input/output. This permission is never used for location tracking.
- Haptic Vibration: Enables tactile rumble feedback for controller buttons and on-screen virtual pads.
3 Anonymous Diagnostic Information
- Crash Reports & Diagnostics: To maintain steady 60 FPS frame rates and prevent audio stuttering across diverse hardware, anonymous diagnostic data (such as device model, OS version, and crash stack traces) may be processed via standard Google Play developer consoles.
- Google Play Distribution: GameBox is officially distributed via the Google Play Store and complies with all Google Play Developer Program Policies.
4 Data Sharing & Ad Tracking
- No Sale of Personal Data: We never sell, rent, monetize, or disclose your personal data to any third party for commercial purposes.
- Ad-Free & No Cross-App Tracking: GameBox contains no invasive advertising SDKs and does not track users using the Google Advertising ID (GAID).
5 User Rights & Data Control
- Revoking Permissions: You can revoke storage or Bluetooth permissions anytime via your Android System Settings > Apps > GameBox > Permissions.
- Data Deletion: Uninstalling GameBox or using the "Clear Storage" function in Android Settings instantly purges all cached configurations from your device.
- Inquiries & GDPR/CCPA Rights: Users in applicable jurisdictions retain rights to inquire about data handling by contacting bin-tech@outlook.com.
6 Children's Privacy
- GameBox does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. Minors must use the App under parent or guardian supervision.
